iirc they caused crash issues for some people.

They had no hitgroups so even if you shot them in the head it registered as the body. Asked the creator of the player models if he could fix them and said he would but it never happened.

The DOD models are already in use for TDM and, unless it's been removed, there's a /nazime that allows admin+ to use the model in the same vein players can use /thugme
